I love treating Mum to a special day each Mother's Day. Last year, I made a yummy lunch at home and filled the table with a huge array of flowers. This year, I plan to head out with Mum and do something out and about in Melbourne.
Here are some suggestions of what to do and what to give Mum for her special day. This guide is also a great idea for you fellas who don't have any plans yet to take out the kid's Mum.
Thank me later!
PREPARE EARLY: Get organised early to enjoy a long, relaxed breakfast in bed.
Firstly, get organised and buy her a gift or a bunch of flowers to kick off the day. Of course I'm going to suggest our beautiful gift box! Still available for local pick up from our South Melbourne office. Head over to our online store here: www.missglasshome.com/shop-online and select the local pick up option at checkout.
It's a beautiful keepsake that is filled with organic products.

One of my most favourite Melbourne florists is Flowers Vasette located at 247 Brunswick St, Fitzroy. Head down and get inspired bright and early Mother's Day or maybe the day before to avoid the queues or simply order online here.
Pick of the bunch: The Vanilla Thriller: "Thrill to the spectacle of this exotic mix of Asian, African and American flowers blended in this fabulous concoction. Creamy shades with accents of soft colour." Photo and image via Flowers Vasette.
Breakfast in bed is probably one of the most enjoyable ways to start off a special day. You could even combine the gift of a new set of gorgeous linen sheets from my favourite Australian brand INBED and serve up a coffee, a pastry the morning's newspaper and perhaps Mum's favourite magazine or latest book to read.

OUT OF THE HOUSE
A perfect exhibition to go see on Sunday May 14th, 2017 would be the Van Gogh exhibition at the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria). On now until July 9th, 2017,

Always a great day out: It's a great time to visit Melbourne's NGV with the Van Gogh exhibition currently showing. Photo via Visit Melbourne.
A wonderful out-of-town destination for lunch is the Piggery Cafe at Bernham Beeches, located at 1 Sherbrooke Rd, Sherbrooke, around a 50 minute drive North-East of Melbourne.
I'd suggest getting in early as I imagine it will be packed out for Mother's Day!
After lunch take a stroll in the Alfred Nicholas gardens next door and take a sneak peak of the original Art Deco homestead that I am simply dying for it to re-purposed into a gorgeous hotel!
Piggery Cafe: Fill your belly with delicious treats then walk it off in the surrounding gardens. Photo via the Piggery Cafe website.
I hope all Mums have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Have a great week and weekend ahead.
